I have seen one of his boxes in person. A local her in Sacramento brought one over so I could cut a cover to match it. Overall they are a little smaller internally and they don't hug the contours as tight but overall not a bad box. The one I worked on was made from 5/8" MDF which is less than the 3/4" MDF I use. What I didn't like about his box was that they were assembled with caulking instead of a stronger adhesive like wood glue/liquid nails. I think ther biggest difference is all of his boxes are one size. He doesn't build them to sub specs like I do. The builder is pretty popular over on 3zc with that crew. On a side note, I know there is no way to stop people copying designs. Hence the AMS thing and what not, but when I sent the guy an email about a year ago asking him why he copied my design and why he could not just make something original instead of making money off of my hard work he told me to fuck off. The sad part is that I sold him a box which he must have disassembled and copied. Overall the guy is a POS but whatever. I have no control over him. The only thing I can do is take care of myself, my customers and hope karma catches up to him someday.
BTW, I really appreciate all the great people on this site who have purchased from me over the last 6 years. I am honestly still suprised I am building these after so long. Once again, thanks for being a great community.
